ISA GASTROBAR

The Isa restaurant, serving Asian-inspired cuisine in a setting designed by the New York studio Avroko, is located on the hotel’s first floor, occupying an iconic corner in the heart of Madrid: the intersection of the historic streets of Alcalá and Sevilla.
The art project for this space, likewise based on a concept with Asian influences, was also conceived in close collaboration with the interior design firm.
Artist Sandra Val intervened directly on the ceiling over the bar with the aforementioned Hybrid Gardens, a refined, subtle vision with hints of the East where nature and poetry go hand in hand. Photographs from Sara Serrano’s Nebules series recall the smoky, vaporous atmosphere of the kitchen, while renowned photographer Manuel Outumuro’s creations feature Spanish film actors recreating pictorial masterpieces. Onewall of the restaurant, lined with imposing boiserie, captures the spirit of collecting in a display of ten reproductions of works from the Museo ThyssenBornemisza, divided into two groups which characterise that important collection:
Portraits and abstraction. Finally, on the bookcase area, the wool and wood creations
of Salvador and Juan Cidrás round out the presence of art in this unique space.
